I don't know much about urban slam poetry - I'm not even sure I'm calling it the right thing... but I do know I really like it as an art form and a means of expression, especially in worship. I've posted a couple of poems previously, here and here.
Below are two more examples of how slam poetry has impact. The first one explains the Gospel in relevant street language. The second is about Holy living as a single person - note the audience reaction. Very powerful and captivating.
